In 2011, Payal Kadakia envisioned a reservation system and search engine dedicated solely for fitness classes. Together with his partners, he released Classtivity in June 2012 and it was subsequently rebranded as ClassPass in January 2014. Nowadays, ClassPass Inc. is a New York City-based health club aggregator – the largest in the world, in fact – with partnerships with more than 8,500 gyms and health clubs in 50 cities worldwide.
Basically, ClassPass provides its users with access to a wide range of fitness classes including yoga, barre, Pilates, martial arts, boxing, and indoor cycling as well as strength training. Users can avail of its services by paying the flat-rate monthly subscription fee – and we have to say that the ClassPass prices are among the most reasonable!
It’s easy to use ClassPass, too – search the studios, gyms and health clubs in your desired area, make an appointment or book a spot, and show up for it! You will have access to a package of 3, 5 or 10 classes every month.
