About Kybella
Kybella is widely considered as the best non-surgical technique for the removal of submental fat (i.e., the fat under the chin, known as double chin or turkey wattle). Keep in mind that Kybella is an injectable fluid consisting of the synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, a bile acid naturally produced by the body that facilitates fat absorption.
When deoxycholic acid is injected into the submental fat layer, it destroys the fat cells in the area and the body then flushes them out naturally (i.e., via its excretory system). No incisions are needed and, thus, there’s no downtime required.
The Kybella prices will depend on the number of injections administered until the fat underneath the chin has been significantly or completely removed. Many patients require up to six injections for their moderate to severe double chins; the injections are spaced at least 30 days apart for best results and safety reasons.
The best candidate for Kybella injections is an adult, 18 years old and above, with moderate to severe submental fat. While most adults can undergo the technique, people who have trouble swallowing, have a medical condition in or near the chin, or have an infection as well as pregnant and nursing mothers aren’t suitable candidates. The medical professional will also determine whether a person is a suitable candidate or not through a stringent screening process.
Since Kybella is a non-surgical technique, little preparation is needed before the injection.
