Sling TV, an over-the-top Internet television service available in the United States and Puerto Rico, which offers a wide selection of on-demand content and cable channels. The content can be streamed through several platforms including mobile devices (e.g., smartphones and tablets), digital media players, and smart televisions. There’s also plenty of programming customization options and cloud-based DVR, among other upgrades and expansions that makes it a top choice for consumers. The interface is user-friendly, too, with the home screen displaying favorite channels, DVR recordings, and previously watched shows, as well as favorite movies and shows. The sidebar allows access to the current television shows as well as a full channel guide, a movie rentals lineup, and a search engine, among others. While the navigation interface isn’t as powerful as expected, it allows for fast and easy channel surfing. The Sling TV prices are relatively more expensive than many of its competitors. The price, nonetheless, is worth it because Sling TV allows its subscribers to get additional services and packages. The basic package, which has 30 channels or so, includes BBC America, AMC, Comedy Central, ESPN, and Cartoon Network. The Sling Blue package has 45 channels for the same price as the basic package but with Disney and ESPN removed while Fox-owned networks are added to the mix. Tip: Get the Sling Orange + Blue package, a more affordable package that combines the lineup of the other packages. Add extra channels for an affordable extra fee.
