Belle Glos 'Eulenloch' Pinot Noir
Joe Wagner has accomplished more in the winemaking world that most have in an entire lifetime. He's made a name for himself with his highly coveted single-vineyard selections from around California - from the Taylor Lane Vineyard in Sonoma Coast, to Clark & Telephone in Santa Maria Valley, Las Alturas in the Santa Lucia Highlands, and Dairyman in the Russian River Valley. But there was one more frontier he had yet to conquer - Napa Valley. Most of Napa is simply too hot for the thin-skinned grape, so Wagner knew he needed the perfect location for his newest and most challenging adventure. Working closely with local growers, he found the Eulenloch Vineyard in the prestigious Carneros AVA - an area known for its cool foggy mornings, rainy days, and unrelenting Breezes. In other words: the ideal recipe for creating dense, balanced, flavor-packed fruit. The inaugural 2014 release of Eulenloch Pinot Noir was met with rave reviews and excited frenzy - after all, it seemed impossible that Joe could out-perform the phenomenal success of his classic 'Wagner style.' But with its sophisticated, plush flavors and ethereal complexity, this wine is undeniably one of 'California's most succulent and most intense Pinot Noirs'. 'Incredibly deep and hedonistic,' critics have raved, enveloping your palate with mouth-coating flavors and leaving you with a 'feeling of utter completion and comprehension of a true high-class wine. The 2017 Eulenloch offers deep aromas of ripe cherry, blueberry, and juicy blackberry leading into opulent layers of baker's chocolate, blackberry, vanilla, and baking spice, with refined tannins and a silky, long finish that just keeps on giving. Less than 2,000 cases produced.

Taplin Cellars 'Terra 9' Cabernet Sauvignon
First founded in 1871, Taplin Cellars has long been an integral part of Napa's St. Helena subregion. The estate is located in the foothills of the Mayacamas on the western bench of St. Helena, where moderate temperatures and gravelly soils create the ideal environment for Cabernet Sauvignon. Although most of the grapes they grow are sold to other premium estates (including Orin Swift and Caymus), the Terra 9 Cab that they produce themselves is one of Napa's best values for the quality. The palate of this wine starts off with complex flavors of brambly berries, Bing cherry, pomegranate, and black tea. These are complemented with notes of milk chocolate, allspice, mocha, and oak. Fine-grained tannins create a plush mouthfeel, with a silky finish that lingers long after the wine is gone.

La Jara Brut Rosé
We were delighted when we discovered La Jara's original Ramato (skin-contact orange wine) rose of Pinot Grigio, so when we found out they had a bubbly we were over the moon! And as it turns out, sparkling wines are La Jara's specialty. The winery's vineyards are in some of the best terroirs of the Prosecco region, with limestone and gravel (jara) soils that contribute gorgeous aromatics and freshness to the wines, which are certified organic. Like Prosecco, La Jara Brut Rosé is made in the spumante style via charmat method, but it's made from Pinot Grigio rather than the standard Glera grape. Aromas of strawberry, raspberries, and rose petals lead into flavors of peaches, cranberries, and cream on the palate. It is dry, with a light-to-medium body, fizzy mousse, and a refreshing finish. 90 Points, Decanter. Made from: Pinot Grigio.

Le Jade Picpoul De Pinet
One of our new favorite crisp whites, this French thirst quencher is made from the little-known Picpoul grape that thrives in both Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Languedoc-Roussillon. Aromas of honeydew melon, lemon, and thyme lead into flavors of pear and sea salt. It's bone dry and crisp, which makes it a fantastic option for raw oysters.

Maison Foucher 'La Vigne Des Sablons' Vouvray
Vouvray' describes Chenin Blanc made in the Vouvray subzone of France's Loire Valley, and it can be anything from a bone-dry table wine to a rich, sweet dessert wine. This Vouvray is a demi-sec, a semi-sweet style that is right in the middle between dry and sweet. With its ripe pear, green apple, and honey notes, along with brightening citrusy acidity and limestone minerality, this is an excellent alternative to German Riesling.

Bodegas Ontanon 'Akemi' White Rioja
White Rioja isn't something you see too frequently, but it will knock your socks off! This spectacular wine is 100% Viura, an indigenous Spanish and southern French white grape that's a lot like Chardonnay. Indeed, this knocks heads with some of the best California Chardonnays, with an oaky, citrusy palate that is filled with flavors of pineapple, butter, and creme brulee. Akemi was designed to pair with sushi, but it's also great with light meats and creamy dishes. Made from: Viura.
