Also known as cliff tea or rock oolong, each variety is named after the ancient bush it grows from on the high rocky cliffs of wu yi shan. Dating back to the song dynasty, da hong pao (big red robe) is considered by many to be the world’s finest oolong. In China this tea is usually reserved for honored guests. It has dark toasty notes of chocolate and fruit, with a smooth lingering floral finish.

Leaves are selected for quality and uniformity of shape, then hand rolled into tight balls, resembling the gunpowder pellets they are named for. Yields a brisk cup with a full aroma and hints of pepper and tobacco, with a long finish. The liquor is a deep russet color.

Osmanthus is a yellow gold flower popular in Chinese cuisine and herbal medicine. The fresh blossoms are layered with high grade tea leaves several times until the leaves are infused with the sweet scent of the flowers. The flavor is soft and subtle. Traditionally osmanthus flowers were said to aid digestion and bestow long life on the lucky drinker. A well-balanced tea, similar to a high grade jasmine.

Yu hau tea originates from nanjing city in jiangsu province. The name yu hua means "rain flower, " and it is so called because the leaves are harvested from within the historical rain flower terrace area. Yu hua numbers as one of the 10 famous teas in China. The leaves resemble pine needles covered with downy white hair and have a rich flavor and brisk scent.

This top grade jasmine has thick, silvery buds. After harvesting, the tender leaves are placed on bamboo trays in layers. A blanket of fresh jasmine blossoms are laid on top of the leaves and refreshed up to 11 times. By this time, a delicate jasmine fragrance becomes part of the tea itself. Each blossom is then painstakingly removed by hand. Three words to describe this teas, sweet, delicate, and floral.

Grown strict under organic conditions, this pristine white tea is a pure as you can get. Harvesting consists of both unopened buds as well as larger leaf, producing a flavorful, clean, pure, delicate cup. Production consists of only tender new buds, just after the buds sprout but before they actually open. Silvery and downy, these leaves are plucked at peak perfection.
